Includes information on macro and trace minerals, their uses in the body and signs of deficiency and toxicity and how to address those imbalances in livestock.
2. Homeopathy for the Farm and When to Use It
Includes information on homeopathy as an inexpensive healing modality and how to use it for first aid and treatment in animals. Some information on herbs is also included.
Speaker Bio:
Author Alethea Kenney, B.S. D. Vet. Hom. is a Traditional Naturopath, Western herbalist, Aromatherapist and Small Ruminant Nutrition Consultant for North Central Feed Products, LLC in Gonvick, MN. She also has a Diploma in Veterinary Homeopathy and is certified in equine iridology. Her book “An Ounce of Prevention: Raising and Feeding Animals Naturally” is available on Amazon.com, Lulu.com and other online booksellers.
She has spent many years working with large and small animals in a veterinary setting and on the farm. Her experiences with the important role nutrition plays in health led her to design a natural livestock mineral line, Back in Balance Minerals® available nationally through North Central Feed Products, LLC.
With her husband, she has farmed since 1996 and now raises various fiber animals, equines, dogs, cats, various fowl and rabbits sustainably on a farm in northern Minnesota, run primarily on renewable energy.
She writes and teaches about holistic animal care, herbs, homeopathy and minerals as they relate to health in people, companion animals and livestock. She also teaches fiber art workshops.
