Handmade Heirloom Teddy Bears

PictureHas a forever home!
Bears and other creatures are completely designed and handmade by Alethea Kenney.  Availability of individual bears & creatures varies, no two are alike!  Photos below are examples only, may not be available.  Contact for pricing and current sales list.

Each stuffed animal is lovingly handcrafted either from wool carefully handsheared or plucked from Reedbird Farm’s flock of crossbred sheep or other fiber aninals or from remnant fabric scraps reinvigorated into new life.

Inner fill is either certified organic cotton batting or washed wool from Reedbird Farm sheep.  Some heirloom animals have dried lavender blossoms included in the stuffing to bring a touch of the scent of summer and help repel moths.
Button eyes and joints are repurposed buttons from Grandma’s button box handed down through generations.  Hopefully you will enjoy imagining the garments they once graced.

Accessories are all handcrafted from handspun yarn that is knit or nalbound into decorative finishing touches.

Embroidery stitching is done by hand and designed completely by Alethea.  Sewing is either done by hand or done on an antique Singer sewing machine circa 1920.

Quality and sustainability are a way of life at Reedbird Farm.  Although the farm is not certified organic, Reedbird Farm follows many of the biodynamic farming ideologies.  Sheep are raised on pasture without the use of chemicals and no chemicals are used in the cleaning or making of the heirloom stuffed animals.

Hopefully you will treasure your Heirloom animal for many years.  Not intended for small children.

Notecards: Prints of paintings by Alethea Kenney

Cards are $6.00 each plus shipping.  They come with envelope and are protected in a plastic "sleeve" to keep dirt off of them.  Discounts available for purchasing multiples or sets, you can choose what you'd like included in your set!  Note that watermark does not appear on cards and cards are printed in high resolution by a local printing business.  Apologies for the adulteration of the images but this helps keep art from being purloined by people other than the artist.

Other cards available, I just haven't gotten them uploaded yet.  Please check back or ask if you are looking for something specific.
